We believe that schools can and should be better but we also believe that the time has come for something different - we need to stop increasing the pressure and workload on our colleagues and instead find solutions which make the profession an attractive one again. Who are we
InspirEDucate was set up by James Pope. James is an experienced educational leader having worked in school leadership for over a decade. Most recently James was Headteacher and executive Headteacher within the Southwest, working in schools facing significant challenges educationally and financially. His School featured in BBC 2 documentary 'School'. James was described as having acted with principles and dignity in exceptionally challenging circumstances.
James started InspirEDucate to develop a network of like minded leaders who can work collaboratively to support headteachers, senior leaders and schools. Challenging the vision and strategic planning whilst offering advice, guidance and coaching support. James has been described as a key influencer with the reach and network to lead change in the Education System. With a passion for leadership and education and the transformative power that this can have on the lives of our young people James works to change the culture and ethos of the schools he works in and, more broadly, the education sector.

Alex Atherton is an experienced school leader, including two headships in large and diverse inner London secondary schools over an eleven year period and a further headship in alternative provision. He achieved his first headship role after only ten years in the profession and spent over half of his school career as headteacher. He now works with a variety of primary and secondary schools, supporting them in their planning and development but always seeing the bigger picture. Alex is proficient in quickly generating momentum and implementing sustainable change. His energy, resilience and passion for education are all assets in taking people with him.
